New Project Manager

We have an exciting announcement to make - starting in mid February, our new project manager will be joining the team.

After Lucy's departure last year, we have found it difficult to replace her with someone who had the same level of skills - we needed someone that was equally great with customers and management aswell as a comprehensive knowledge of web.

Our new recruit is top secret, and we can't reveal who it is, under any circumstances....well....OK, its none other, than Lucy herself!

That's right, Lucy has decided to come back to Studio 2 Online, to further improve our customer service, and ensure your projects run smoothly and efficiently.

Lucy will be onboard starting mid February, but please continue to use Giles as your main point of contact whilst Lucy settles in. Lucy will gradually be in contact with clients to resume as the primary contact.

Case Study – Tony Holmes Cars

Launched just before Christmas, Studio 2 redeveloped the Tony Holmes Cars website, incorporating a new system, working in a similar way to the AutoTrader website.

Users can now quickly search through current stock, and view a selection of images for each car.

Importantly, the backend administration system allows the staff at Tony Holmes to update their site with the latest cars, including the upload of the images. This way the stock remains completely current. The intuitive system was built for rapid administration, through simple interfaces.

"Our new Tony Holmes Cars website give us an interactive and competitive edge ahead of our competitors. Thanks to the whole team at studio 2 online for all the help and support you carry on giving us."
Charles Cain, Tony Holmes Cars

Studio 2 Online wins business award

Our man Giles (middle)

A little bit of trumpet blowing, Studio 2 have been awarded "Most Developed Business of 2005" by ABC Training at their annual awards ceremony held late in December.

Studio 2 took part in their "Business Booster" programme last year, and found ABC's advice and guidance absolutely invaluable in expanding and developing our own business.

Studio 2 implements new Sage CRM system

Always looking at ways to improve our efficiency and service, we have leapfrogged over our current Customer Management systems, Goldmine and Issueview, and updated with Sage’s impressive CRM system.

We will be using this as an improved information centre to each of our clients, where we log all details, logins, emails and calls etc. How this will benefit you, as in the future you will be able to check the status of your project, your own website addresses and logins, and also automatically renew any services such as web hosting, online.

For customers who have already been introduced to it, you can also log any feature requests, fixes etc at:
http://customersupport.studio2online.co.uk.

We will of course keep you up to speed as we improve and expand on the system.

Christmas Card a success!

Eagerly awaited from some of our clients, who were still recovering from last year’s Slalom Racer, our new Christmas flash game was launched during the last week before Christmas to some frantic rivalry across our clients and friends. We adhered to the simple philosophy of "simple but addictive" which has now seen a scoreboard rack up to over 5,000 entries. Thanks for playing!

You can still access the game here:

Online Christmas sales reach £5bn
Extracts taken from www.imrg.org

Consumers embraced internet shopping en masse at Christmas, as half the adult population clicked online for some - and in many cases for all of their shopping.

Internet shopping soared almost 50% during the 10-week run up to Christmas 2005. Shoppers spent £5 (£4.98) billion online, compared with £3.33 billion during the same period in 2004

IMRG's MD Jo Tucker commented:
"A step change happened in retailing at Christmas. Consumers have spoken. They want the convenience and choice that online shopping provides. Many just don't have time to trudge the streets hoping goods are in stock. There can no longer be any doubt that the internet is a major part of the retail landscape, and that it will dominate the retail agenda for the next several years."

IMRG forecasts that UK e-retail will grow 36% in 2006, and sales will be worth £26 billion for the calendar year. Shoppers will each spend on average more than £1,000 for the first time in 2006.
