Due to our continued growth, Studio 2 Online, Leicester’s largest and leading website design agency, require a Senior Website Designer/Developer to assist in the build and development of websites. The successful candidate will work alongside our existing creative team to build websites from approved designs.

You will be responsible for building a wide range of different websites, from corporate websites to e-commerce websites and Intranets. You will work in partnership with the existing studio under the leadership of the Creative Team Leader. You will have excellent experience in CSS and a good working knowledge of Flash would be an advantage.

The role has excellent growth prospects within the company and the successful candidate will be given full training and support.

• Responsible for building website templates based on concept designs that exist as PSD files
• Building of websites based on templates developed using HTML
• Building of websites based on existing templates using a Content Management system
• Building emails from approved templates and content supplied for the purposes of email marketing
• Development of designs from initial design concepts
• To attend meetings with prospective clients, completing the necessary forms to gather details about the opportunity
• Completing administration work, as necessary
• Responding to requests from the Creative Team Leader in an efficient and timely manner

• Minimum of 4 years commercial experience in the development of websites
• Commercial experience in the development of HTML websites using advanced CSS.
• Basic working knowledge of flash is required, although a greater understanding and ability of flash would be preferred.
• Experience of Photoshop is essential, with experience of Illustrator/Freehand and Corel an advantage.
• Experience of working with Content Management Systems would be useful, with an appreciation of and ability to take into account the dynamic relationship between the web development process and ongoing client-side content management
• Appreciation of how your work fits into and impacts on the wider development process with the ability to interact constructively with other members of the team
• Must be able to quickly understand the client, their products and their industry
  

• Highly proficient at hand-coding in advanced CSS and XHTML with an excellent grasp of web standards and accessibility issues
• Ability to build websites using table-less, CSS-based layouts
• A good eye for design and the ability to take a concept design and extend and apply it to a whole website.
• Must have a basic understanding and appreciation for natural search engine optimisation.
• Ability to quickly pick up and adapt to new technologies and ways of working
• Ability to use your own initiative to find solutions and solve problems as you work
• Extremely methodical and logical approach to your work, with the ability to work within and adhere to predefined systems and structures while maintaining a look-out for ways of improving efficiency
• Strong listening and questioning skills
• Ability to use email, Internet applications, MS Windows operating system and CRM tools to support their role
  

• Experience of website development
• A basic working knowledge of JavaScript, PHP and Coldfusion would be extremely useful, as you will frequently be required to work within and integrate with systems and templates that use these scripting languages
• Experience and good understanding of accessibility guidelines and standards
• Knowledge of website and email marketing
• Understanding of the importance of personal development and ability to work toward achieving agreed actions
• Ability to work as a part of a team, contributing and sharing best practises/ knowledge / resources and ideas
• Understanding of the importance of demonstrating respect and confidentiality regarding company and client information
• Ability to provide analytical and insightful recommendations to clients and team
  

• Ability to use Simple CMS system to complete the build of websites
• Ability to use Online Store Builder to style eCommerce websites
• Ability to design, build and send email marketing campaigns
• Ability to develop & build websites to varying levels of standards compliance
• Provide support and advice to less experienced members of the team in order to help complete projects
• Ability to identify issues and propose solutions before the client brings them to our attention
